Prayer wheel
The prayer wheel is undoubtedly the object of the Buddhist ritual best known to laymen, but also the best companion of the faithful. Commonly called Chos-kor, it means "to turn the doctrine" and refers to the first teaching of the Buddha, after awakening, which thus set the Wheel of Dharma in motion. It consists of a cylinder filled with mantras rotating around an axis. Operating the prayer wheel has the same symbolism and spiritual value as reciting mantras. The prayer wheel is turned clockwise.
