"Patan" Sublime prayer wheel from Nepal
The prayer wheel is undoubtedly the object of the Buddhist ritual best known to laymen, but also the best companion of the faithful. Commonly called Chos-kor, it means "to turn the doctrine" and refers to the first teaching of the Buddha, after awakening, which thus set the Wheel of Dharma in motion. It consists of a cylinder filled with mantras rotating around an axis. Operating the prayer wheel has the same symbolism and spiritual value as reciting mantras. The prayer wheel is turned clockwise. This prayer wheel is an exceptional piece both for its finishes and its many prayers inside. Richly decorated, it will brighten up your living room beyond measure.
