bronze Urli
An Urli is a large metal container, a kind of basin, which is used in various ways in India. They serve people in everyday life as a saucepan or for washing laundry, are used as containers for offerings or in large versions as huge saucepans for ceremonies and wedding celebrations. They are usually made of bronze, brass or metal.
This traditional Urli was cast in bronze and offers you a beautiful, unique decorative object in which you can, for example, let flowers float, as is traditionally done in South India.
An alloy of copper and tin with a high copper content, bronze is a very resistant element used in particular for works of art and decoration. Our bronze objects have been carefully chosen in India and are made on site by quality craftsmen.
Maintenance : for routine maintenance a cloth soaked in soapy water is sufficient, to restore shine a toothbrush soaked in lemon juice is ideal and to remove the verdigris of alcohol vinegar mixed with salt will restore its original color. Wipe well after cleaning. To make it shine, beeswax or linseed oil will be perfect.
